How does your organization learn to improve its campaigns, strategies, programs, and events?
This is the main topic of Beth Kanter blog post that you will find below. It is not about the data that organizations collect, but on how to turn all the information into actionable changes – Tweet it!
The data has to be analyzed and reported, but after all, what are the next steps? How do you turn that relevant information into innovation? Here is Beth’s process:
- Capture the lesson learned (big or small)
- Put it on a social site so all members of your team can add and access (a google document works great for this)
- Ask team members to reflect on their lessons learned
- Review it together in a meeting and summarize into a series of “do, improve (say how), don’t do)
To my mind, we might consider incorporating a role to our organization that is in charge of change. A person that will turn the data, employee’s suggestions and company purposes into reality. You may want to call it Chief Change Officer aka CCO, or don’t incorporate into the executive board, but make sure there is someone really motivated about incorporating new practices, innovation and learning from the past experience that will make sure change is done, and done well.
