Before tho, Jordi Capdevila Espitia is the Marketing Director at VSN, an IT company that develops, sells and installs software solutions for the Broadcast and Audiovisual industries. Created in 1990 in Barcelona (Spain), with branch-offices in Dubai, Miami, Hong Kong and Santiago de Chile, VSN has been adding value to more than 1000 clients from 100 countries for over 20 years. Jordi leads the Marketing Strategy with the help of a 5 people team. B2B communications comes in natural within his abilities to increase brand awareness through exhibits, traditional communications and leading the renewal VSN’s digital communications strategy such as lead generation, CRM, marketing automation, SEM and SEO.
In the past, Jordi was the Marketing Manager at Voicebox Creative, a design firm based in San Francisco. He was developing New Business working closely with both of the Business Partners. Among the main functions he was responsible for CRM, B2B lead generation, Marketing Automation and promotional pieces. His main goal was to increase brand awareness for the agency.
Before, Jordi was the Marketing Executive for LaComunity, an e-Commerce Start Up based in Barcelona. LaComunity is an accommodation rental club offering discounts on vacations apartments and rooms. During its first year of live, his main goals were to establish a sustainable growth marketing strategy, increase awareness in social media, launch campaigns with a small budget, review and improve usability of the website and work closely with its founder, Francesc Sanz, and the sales and IT team. He left this great company to move to San Francisco and left in his role one of his best friends and talented classmate, Sergi Parcerisas.
Very early on in his career, his role was focused on search marketing (paid and organic) and acquisition marketing. He has been building external communities ever since and believes that brands should focus on turning friends, fans and followers into brand advocates and storytellers. It’s passion for communication comes from his first positions as social media copywriter and community manager for small companies in Barcelona and larger companies such as Yahoo.es and MTV.es.
Jordi has a Bachelor in Advertising and Public Relations from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He also has a minor in International Marketing from the Aahrus Business School from Denmark. Among his studies he has an Integrated marketing communications course from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a Social Business course from UC Berkeley Extension.
Jordi will always find some time to go for a run, keep reading a diverse range of books, watch a movie or cycle around the city. He loves good coffee breaks and chatting about anything that can be chatted.
